Norman E. Stanger Award in Pre-Veterinary Studies
Upon the retirement of Dr. Norman E. Stanger from the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, his colleagues and friends established a fund of about $7,000. The Manitoba Scholarship and Bursary Initiative has made a contribution to this fund. The available annual interest earned will be awarded to an outstanding student from the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences who:

(1) is accepted into first year in Veterinary Medicine at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan;

(2) has achieved highest standing in the Pre-Veterinary qualifying year (Year 2, carrying at least an 80 percent course-load) of students going forward to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine.

In the event of a tie, the degree grade point average will be considered as the tie breaker. Should no second year student qualify, applicants from third and fourth year may be considered. The selection committee will be the Awards Committee of the Department of Animal Science.
