Baldur Stefansson Bursary
The Canada Iceland Foundation offers to provide an annual bursary in the amount of the interest from a fund of about $7,000 to honour Dr. Baldur Stefansson in recognition of his contributions to the people of Canada and the world through his outstanding research and leadership in the development of Canola.

Effective September 1992 one award will be made annually to a student who:

(1) is a resident of Manitoba;

(2) has normally completed at least two years in the degree program in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences;

(3) has achieved a good academic performance with a minimum average grade point average of 3.0;

(4) has established need according to the criteria established by the Financial Aid and Awards Office;

(5) continues in the degree program in the faculty;

(6) has interest in specializing in plant breeding and genetics, crop production or agronomy.

The faculty awards committee will determine in September of each year the student who meets the award criteria. If, in the judgment of the awards committee, no student meets the award criteria, no award will be given in that year.
