Award Information
Lord Selkirk Association of Rupert's Land Agriculture Scholarship
Since donations to the fund supported by The Lord Selkirk Association of Rupert’s Land have increased its balance to about $35,500, the Association offers to add a scholarship in the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences to the two it already provides in the Department of History in the Faculty of Arts. The Manitoba Scholarships and Bursaries Initiative has made a contribution to this fund. The new award is to be offered in recognition of the agricultural heritage of the Lord Selkirk settlement and will provide support to a graduate student doing research in methods farmers may use to add value to their products before "leaving the farm gate".

Selection of recipients is to be based on academic performance and on the applicability of research to current farm practices. The value of the scholarship shall be 30 percent of the fund (with another 30 percent each supporting the awards in history and the remaining ten percent recapitalized).

The selection committee is to be named by the Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences.
