Agriculture Faculty – Walter Williamson Awards
The faculty members of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences have established an awards fund at The University of Manitoba. In 2009, a gift of $10,000 from the estate of Mr. Walter Williamson (B.S.A./35) was added to the fund for the support of scholarships for students in agricultural programs. There shall be no encroachment on the capital of the fund. The available annual income from this fund will be used to offer eight prizes of equal value; one in each of:

Animal Systems
Plant Biotechnology
Food Science
Biosystems Engineering
Diploma Agriculture

To the student who, in completing third year in the degree program and first year in the diploma program, achieves the highest sessional grade point average.

Normally, a minimum G.P.A. of 3.5 will be required but the Awards Committee of the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences may, after reviewing student standings, exercise discretion and either may vary this requirement or, if it deems no student suitably qualified, make no award in one or more of the ten programs, degrees, or diplomas noted above.

The selection committee shall be the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences Awards Committee.

Eight awards valued at $225 each will be awarded in Fall 2014.
