University Gold Medal in Agricultural and Food Sciences

General Selection Criteria

The University Gold Medal shall be awarded to the graduating student who:

(1) has achieved the highest grade point average (minimum 3.80) on courses constituting the last 60 credit hours of an eligible program (and including no transfer courses in the applicable years); and,

(2) has completed at least 80 percent of what is considered to be the normal full course load in each of the last two years of the eligible program.

Tie-Breaking Mechanism

General Selection Criteria

Degree medals shall be awarded to the graduating student in each degree who:

(i) has achieved the highest grade point average (minimum 3.75), excluding the winner of the University Gold Medal, on courses constituting the last 60 credit hours of an eligible degree program (and including no transfer courses in the applicable years); and,

(ii) has completed at least 80 percent of what is considered to be the normal full course load in each of the last two years of the eligible degree.

Tie-Breaking Mechanism

Only one winner is to be named for each medal. Ties are to be broken using the same criteria as for the University Gold Medal selection.
